An anonymous donor advisor at The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore has pledged a $25,000 match in donations towards Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. On Tuesday, the Community Foundation activated its Disaster Relief Fund, which assists donors in sending aid during times of crisis.
Donations collected by The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore will then be distributed to the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
“In times of crisis, donors can sometimes be hesitant to send monetary donations, but by working through local community foundations, donors can feel assured that funding will be spent only for the intended relief purposes,” states CFES President Erica Joseph. “While not affiliated with one another, all community foundations must meet rigid standards of excellence and carefully review distribution of funding. This allows us to assist with both long term and short term recovery efforts.”
