Women at a transitional housing shelter in Pocomoke City will be sleeping better in new bedding after recently receiving a charitable donation. The Samaritan Ministries Shelter accepted a combined $3,000 in financial assistance to replace bunkbeds and mattresses.
The charitable gift was made possible through the Community Foundation’s James Barrett Worcester County Fund, with the generosity of “Partner in Giving” First Shore Federal Savings and Loan. The Community Foundation’s “Partner in Giving” program provides opportunities for donors to partner with the Foundation in supporting urgent needs in the Community.
“We are privileged to support the Samaritan Shelter and join the Community Foundation in helping to meet this critical need in Southern Worcester County,” states Marty Neat, President of First Shore Federal.
Serving the community since 1986, the Samaritan Ministries in Pocomoke City, provides assistance of shelter, meals and food distribution to those in crisis, assisting them in overcoming hardship, stabilizing their lives and moving forward toward gaining control over their circumstances.
