NONPROFIT SUPPORT PROGRAMS

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, as part of its core mission, has supported local nonprofit organizations since 1984.  In addition to financial support, the Foundation has developed a number of Nonprofit Support Programs designed to enhance the capacity of local organizations to effectively achieve their mission.

Current Nonprofit Support Programs include:

Nonprofit Scholarship Program

The Nonprofit Scholarship Program is offered in partnership with the Continuing Education and Workforce Development Department at Wor-Wic Community College. Scholarships (covering tuition and fees) are available for select courses each semester to staff and volunteers of local nonprofit 501c3 organizations.

Technical Mini Grant Program

This grant program, offered twice annually, provides grants of up to $1,000 to local 501c3 organizations for capacity-building efforts to benefit staff and volunteers. Deadlines are January 20th and July 20th each year.

Nonprofit Resource Center

The Nonprofit Resource Center provides the local nonprofit sector with electronic and print materials on a wide-range of nonprofit management and philanthropy topics including grant writing, strategic planning and financial planning to board development, volunteer management and marketing. A key research tool is free access to the top-tier of the Foundation Centeral's Foundation Directory Online, a searchable database of potential funding opportunities for over 88,000 grant-makers nationwide.

CFES Sponsored Training and Education Opportunities

Educational programs, workshops, seminars and special events designed to bring regional grant makers together with nonprofit leaders and provide opportunities for nonprofit networking.
