About CFES

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, Inc. is a public foundation serving the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, specifically Somerset County, Wicomico County, and Worcester County.  Established in 1984, the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, Inc. is a local philanthropic expert committed to connecting donors with community needs.  Gifts to the Community Foundation create permanent endowment funds that steadily grow in value over time and produce income for grants to local charitable nonprofit organizations.  To learn more about how to become a partner in charitable giving with the Community Foundation, visit our Give page.  To learn about how to apply for grants and scholarships from CFES funds, visit the Receive page.  Or, at any time, our Staff welcomes your call or email.

In fiscal year 2013 the Foundation made 1,128 grants totaling $5.3 million as scholarships and as grants, to nonprofit and faith-based organizations to help improve the quality of life for the citizens of this region.

Hours:

Our offices are open 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday.
(The months of June, July, and August we are open 8am – 4:30pm, Monday – Thursday and 8am – noon on Friday.)
